SpendWise is designed as an offline-first utility.

•Financial Data: All data you enter into the app, including expenses, income, categories, and budget limits, is stored locally on your device using an encrypted Room database.

•No Server Storage: We do not collect, transmit, or store your financial records on any external servers. Your data never leaves your device unless you choose to perform a manual backup or export.

2. Permissions :

To provide a complete experience, the app may request the following permissions:

•Notifications : Used to send you daily reminders to record your transactions and alerts when you approach your budget limit.

•Storage Access: Required only if you choose to use the "Export as PDF" or "Backup" features to save files to your device's local storage.

3. Third-Party Services

SpendWise uses minimal third-party libraries to enhance functionality:

•MPAndroidChart: Used for generating spending analytics. This library operates locally and does not collect user data.

•Google Play Services / Android System: The app relies on standard Android system components (like WorkManager) which may collect basic telemetry as governed by Google’s own privacy policy.

4. Data Security

Because your data is stored locally, its security depends entirely on the security of your mobile device. We recommend:

•Using a secure lock screen (Fingerprint, PIN, or Pattern).

•Enabling device encryption.

•Being cautious when sharing your device with others.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

You have full control over your data.

•Manual Deletion: You can delete individual transactions or reset the app data at any time within the app settings.

•App Uninstallation: Uninstalling the SpendWise app will permanently delete all locally stored data from your device.

6. Children’s Privacy

SpendWise does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children. Since no data is transmitted to us, we do not have access to any user’s age or identity.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
